Spring

Spring is a time of flowers when petals sprout from pale cacoons.

Poppies bloom, and the world is ablaze with fiery colors.

Robed in feathers, the darting birds sing of spring and shorter moons.

In March, females of land and air are all prepared to be mothers.

Newborns appear every day to see and smell the joys of spring.

Gorgeous is spring for every day; it unveils a new lovely thing.

  1. I LOVE the vivid, specific imagery you created of spring in this poem Lydia! Pale cacoons, robed in feathers, shorter moons…new lovely thing. Spring is so beautiful and I am grateful to God for it and for your words that point my mind to the One who made all these beautiful things!

  2. Lydia, I love your poems. Keep writing them! This is my favorite line:
Robed in feathers, the darting birds sing of spring and shorter moons.
